With close to 30 million speakers, Romanian as a language is mostly spoken in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Even though it is a Romance language, Romanian has four cases and three genders which its sister languages like Spanish and French do not have. It also has the interesting distinction of having definite articles attached to the end of nouns, similar to Scandinavian languages. Obviously, Romanian isnít the most popular Romance language by a long shot but it might be a good choice for someone who wants to learn a more exotic variant of the mainstream.
